Miss Elizabeth D Hawkes

MBBS, BSc (Hons), FRCOphth Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon, Oculoplastic Surgeon & Aesthetic Practitioner

Miss Elizabeth Hawkes is a highly experienced consultant ophthalmic and oculoplastic surgeon. She has a specialist interest in cosmetic eyelid surgery, including upper and lower eyelid blepharoplasty surgery. She also practices advanced facial aesthetics for non-surgical facial and eye rejuvenation. She is able to consult on all aspects of general ophthalmology.

Miss Hawkes’ practice is completely focused on the eyes, having trained to become an eye surgeon and later training to become an oculoplastic surgeon. She carries out a thorough eye examination prior to considering eyelid surgery. She combines her passion for precise, delicate surgery and meticulous attention to detail, ophthalmology and cosmetic surgery. Miss Hawkes graduated from Imperial College in London, and has trained at Harvard Medical School in Boston. Miss Hawkes undertook postgraduate medical and surgical training at St Mary’s Hospital in London before embarking on a career in ophthalmic surgery.

Having been brought up around family members who have dedicated their careers to ophthalmic and oculoplastic surgery, Elizabeth also discovered a curiosity for these specialties. Inspired by her relatives’ work, she decided to undergo thorough training at some of the most prestigious, world-leading, academic institutions which has led to her meticulous technique and outstanding results.

In 2020, Miss Hawkes had the privilege of being asked to take over the practice and patients of Professor Richard Collin. She is truly honoured given that he was widely considered to be the leading oculoplastic specialist of his time.

She serves on the Clinical Advisory Board for the Aesthetics Journal. She has helped set aesthetic industry standards and has provided key specialist ophthalmic perspectives regarding cosmetic eye treatments. Miss Hawkes was the clinical lead of the Emergency Eye Care Service at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, where she also held a substantive NHS ophthalmology consultant post.

Miss Hawkes completed ophthalmic surgical training on the prestigious Oxford rotation, and she has spent time at the Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. She is a member of the highly regarded European Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons as well as the British Oculoplastic Surgical Society.  She is also a fellow of, and examiner for, the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and has delivered several international and national presentations.

Elizabeth prides herself on producing natural results after formulating a bespoke treatment plan for face and eye rejuvenation. Her patients comment on her professional, yet friendly approach.
