Modern Slavery Statement
London Lauriston Clinic Ltd (LLC, the Clinic, or we or our) understands and recognizes that forced labor, debt bondage and human trafficking are causes for increasing concern throughout the world. Modern slavery is a term that refers to situations of exploitation that a person is not able to refuse or leave because of threats, violence, coercion, deception, and/or abuse of power. The fact that modern slavery still exists in the shadows of our communities is totally unacceptable.
We are committed to identifying all potential modern slavery risks related to our business and place the utmost importance on implementing effective systems and controls to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking are not taking place anywhere within our own business or our supply chains. This represents the Clinic’s commitment to understanding and tackling modern slavery risks within our business.
Our business
LLC is registered in England and Wales under the company number 14345990. Our clinic and registered office are located at 34 Great Titchfield Street, London W1W 8BQ. We provide a broad range of pharmacy and clinical services and products, which requires a diverse supply chain including both national and international suppliers.
Our supply chains
Our supply chains primarily include the sourcing of pharmaceuticals, medical consumables, medical products and equipment, retail goods, and services relevant to the business. Suppliers support the day-to-day operations of the Clinic.
Our policies on modern slavery
We have implemented various internal policies to provide guidance on areas such as whistleblowing, procurement, and safeguarding, to ensure that we are conducting business in an ethical and transparent manner. All our policies are regularly reviewed and updated to ensure that they address the modern slavery risk.
In addition, our policies continue to be provided to our suppliers on the basis that if we engage a supplier, it is expected that they, their employees, and anyone that they engage with should comply with LLC’s principles.
Due diligence and risk assessment
Our supply chain and procurement approval processes include due diligence of the supplier’s reputation, respect for the law, compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, and references. We also have ongoing monitoring and auditing processes to gauge the effectiveness of our policies, systems, and controls related to modern slavery. Any identified instances or risks are promptly addressed, and corrective measures are implemented.
Training
We provide training to our staff to help them understand the signs of modern slavery, what to do if they suspect a case of slavery, and how to escalate potential issues. This training is a key part of our strategy to ensure that our employees and management are able to identify risk factors, understand the implications of modern slavery, and take appropriate action when necessary.
Our commitment
We acknowledge our responsibility to the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and will ensure transparency within our organisation and with our suppliers. We expect the same high standards from all our contractors, suppliers and other business partners, and expect that our suppliers will hold their own suppliers to the same high standards. This statement has been approved by our organisation’s Board of Directors, who will review and update it annually. It constitutes the Clinic’s modern slavery and human trafficking statement for the current financial year.
