Blood tests
Depending on an initial assessment your rheumatologist may request several different blood tests; some examples are:
- Rheumatoid factor
- ESR
- CRP
- Antinuclear antibody
- Compliment C3 and C4
- Anti dsDNA
X ray, MRI scan, ultrasound
For these diagnostic tests, your specialist would refer you to one of the other healthcare providers of your choice.

Treatments
Your rheumatologist may suggest some of the following treatments depending on your condition:
- Corticosteroids and joint injections
- Immunosuppressive medications
- Occupational therapy
- Medication
